Health Innovation East Midlands collaborated with innovator Qbtech to transform the assessment of children and young people with ADHD, addressing one of the NHS’s growing areas of demand.

QbTest, a NICE-approved technology used alongside clinical assessment, is underpinned by more than 40 clinical research papers, including an RCT that demonstrates that, when used as part of a routine assessment, it can significantly reduce the time taken to diagnose ADHD compared with traditional clinical assessments.

Research collaborations between Qbtech and the Health Innovation network has led to real-world data that showed when QbTest was used in the ADHD assessment by the NHS, the number of appointments required to reach a diagnostic decision was reduced by 1, saving on average between £14,000 and £94,000 per service implementing QbTest.

The three finalists will be judged by a representative from category sponsor, Fearsome, with the winner revealed at a virtual event on October 28.
